Services provided by Mayfair Care Services
Our domiciliary services support a wide range of individuals. We help those with physical disabilities, sensory difficulties, mental health, learning disabilities and those that simply require assistance in their advancing years. The most common services we provide are as follows: Personal Care. Personal Care is a term that covers all assistance with any care provided that is of a personal nature. Personal care duties include: Assisting with getting up and going to bed, basin washing, showering, bathing, bed baths, drying and dressing. Oral care. Personal grooming such as shaving and haircare. Skin care and applying of lotions and creams for skin integrity. Continence care including toileting, changing continence pads, catheter care and maintaining aids used for continence such as commodes and urinary bottles. Assisting with Mobility. Mobility is important in promoting the independence of an individual. Mobility can be impaired due to an underlying health condition, general health deterioration and injury. Our staff are trained to assist with the day-to-day mobility requirements of an individual and the use of most mobility aids such as wheelchairs, wheeled commodes, hoists, rotundas, stand assists, walking frames, bath lifts, glide sheets, etc. Medication Support. Medication can feel complex and sometimes even confusing. It is Important to make sure the correct doses are being taken and in the correct manner. Whether it is starting a new course of medication or managing existing prescriptions our staff are qualified to provide support in administering medication and the keeping detailed medication records. Please note: We are only allowed to administer medication from original boxes or from multi-dose systems which have been pre-packed by a pharmacy. Nutritional Support. Nutrition and Hydration are very important to vulnerable individuals. Not having a consistent diet can lead to malnutrition and it’s associated complications, including weakened immune systems, muscle weakness, and impaired cognitive function. Likewise, inadequate hydration can run the risk of complications such as urinary tract infection, constipation, fatigue and low blood pressure. Nutritional duties include: Safe preparation and cooking of meals. Monitoring used by date of foods. Washing up and drying of crockery, cutlery and other cooking utensils. Cleaning work surfaces. Feeding or helping to feed the individual if this is required. Palliative Care. Our palliative care aims to make you as comfortable and relaxed as possible when you’re living with a terminal illness. We take a holistic approach that is designed to support you as a person rather than just focusing on your illness or symptoms. We also have a very good working relationship the local palliative care consultants, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. Sitting Service. As we get older it can be difficult being alone or keeping on top of daily tasks. Loneliness has been acknowledged to be a very real concern within our elderly communities. It can be challenging not being able to see family and friends as often as you like or adapting to life after the loss of a spouse or partner for instance. Our sitting service focuses on the social aspect of care (although all other aspects of care can also be included within this service) so you can be assured that our carers will provide you with the companionship you need. This service isn't exclusive to your home. We can accompany you if you wish to ‘get out and about’ within the local community. This service is also useful if you have live-in carer or personal assistant that requires a short break during the day. Please note: Sitting services are subject to a minimum 60 minute visit. Domestic Service. Cleanliness of the home is an essential part of preventing infection.
